About the Customer Service Specialist job

Miaplaza runs online homeschool programs, and this team is the first stop for the parents and teachers using them. You’ll take calls, chats, emails and social messages, work out what the family needs, and stay with the issue until it’s sorted. Volume is high, so they want people who stay calm, write clearly and keep good notes.

As a Customer Service Specialist you’d be recommending solutions, not just reading answers off a script. Education or tech experience helps but isn’t required. What you’ll do

  • Support customers by phone, email, chat and social media
  • Solve problems with patience and speed, and keep the standard high
  • Tailor each reply so the person feels heard
  • Work out what a customer needs and suggest the right fix
  • Keep detailed records of every conversation and pass on customer feedback
  • Work with teammates to handle a heavy, sometimes tricky, queue
  • Turn rough situations into good outcomes

What you need

  • At least 2 years of full-time experience in a people-facing role
  • A computer or laptop with a working webcam and reliable high-speed internet
  • Typing speed of 55 words per minute
  • Comfort with technology and a quick learning curve on new tools

Schedule and shifts

  • 8-hour shifts, 5 days a week
  • Be ready for two of those days to be Saturday and Sunday
  • Mid shift: 8:45am to 5:15pm ET (5:45am to 2:15pm PT)
  • Evening shift: 2:45pm to 11:15pm ET (11:45am to 8:15pm PT)
  • Holidays are worked by availability and preference, or on a rotation

Pay, training and benefits

The expected starting range is $19.17 to $26.34 per hour. Miaplaza adjusts for regional living and labor costs, and your exact rate comes up during hiring. Training cohorts start November 11 and December 2, 2026.
