The Payroll Administrator 1 supports accurate and timely payroll processing on a weekly and bi-weekly basis, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. This entry-level role maintains employee pay records, serves as a point of contact for payroll inquiries and audits, and collaborates with cross-functional departments to verify timesheets and payroll accuracy. - Responsibilities:
- Verify timesheets and calculate gross to net pay
- Maintain and update payroll records including new hires, terminations, pay rate changes, and benefit deductions
- Ensure compliance with wage and hour laws, including overtime and minimum wage
- Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll, taxes, and timekeeping
- Reconcile payroll reports and resolve discrepancies
- Maintain confidentiality of employee records and payroll information
- Ensure compliance with multiple Union contracts and agricultural wage order contracts
- Ensure garnishment compliance
- Maintain check registers and positive pay files accurately
- Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Preferably 1+ years’ experience in payroll, accounting, or related field including multistate and multi-pay group payrolls
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word); knowledge of Dayforce HCM preferred
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
- Capability to analyze payroll data and resolve complex issues
- Strong organizational, critical thinking, customer service, and communication skills
- Ability to thrive in a team collaboration environment

- Pay Range and Compensation Package:
- Hourly pay range: $22.26 to $33.41 per hour
