About the Role
My client is seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to join their team and oversee the accurate and timely processing of payroll. The ideal candidate will have experience managing full-cycle payroll, preferably using Paycor, and possess a strong understanding of payroll regulations and best practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Process full-cycle payroll accurately and on schedule using Paycor
- Maintain employee payroll records — new hires, terminations, pay changes, benefits deductions
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations
- Process garnishments, direct deposits, PTO accruals, and other payroll adjustments
- Reconcile payroll reports; assist with month-end and year-end activities including W-2 prep
- Respond to employee payroll inquiries and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner
- Partner with HR and Finance to ensure accurate employee data and payroll reporting
- Assist with payroll audits, reporting, and process improvements
Qualifications
- 3+ years of payroll processing experience
- Hands-on experience with Paycor payroll software strongly preferred
- Experience processing multi-state payroll is a plus
- Strong knowledge of payroll laws, tax regulations, and wage and hour compliance
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and payroll reporting
- Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, ability to handle confidential information
- CPP certification is a plus but not required
Compensation: $70,000–$80,000/year based on experience, plus bonus eligibility.
