About the Role

We are seeking a Data Engineer – Mid for this remote job USA / work from home position to support the design, development, and maintenance of cloud-based data pipelines, ETL processes, and data ingestion frameworks for FEMA’s data analytics platforms.
This is a 100% remote, WFH job open to candidates anywhere in the United States, with compensation ranging from $115,000–$135,000/year based on experience and qualifications.
Key Responsibilities
- Architect and optimize complex data ingestion and transformation pipelines
- Lead data modeling, partitioning, and performance tuning
- Ensure FISMA/FedRAMP-compliant security and data governance
- Support analytics, AI/ML teams, and cross-program data initiatives
- Oversee automation, code reviews, and DevSecOps integration
Minimum Requirements
- At least 3+ years of relevant working experience in a similar role
- Deep experience with distributed computing (Spark, EMR, Databricks)
- Advanced SQL, Python, and cloud data tooling
- Familiarity with DHS data governance and security standards
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field
- AWS/Azure/GCP Data certifications
Clearance Requirements
- U.S. Citizenship required
- Ability to obtain Public Trust clearance
- Active Public Trust preferred — FEMA Public Trust highly preferred
