Responsibilities

• Deep dive into user problems to simplify and optimize operational workflows.
• Architect modular, flexible software systems that evolve with the business.
• Lead backend and frontend development for major projects on a modern stack.
• Establish robust automated testing across unit, integration, and system layers.
• Improve reliability, observability, and operational robustness at scale.
• Systematize AI-assisted workflows across development, testing, and ops.
• Uphold code quality, clear engineering patterns, and review standards.
• Mentor junior engineers through coaching, pairing, and design reviews.
• Drive team throughput by eliminating architectural complexity.

Must-Have Skills

• 8+ years building and operating production-grade distributed systems.
• Full stack experience with Python, Go, or similar object-oriented languages.
• Frontend experience with React or similar JavaScript frameworks.
• Expertise architecting distributed, event-driven systems (e.g. Kafka).
• Proficiency with PostgreSQL — modeling and performance tuning.
• Track record designing simple, resilient, scalable systems.
• Demonstrated implementation of automated testing strategies.
• Experience driving architecture decisions in fast-paced environments.
• Proven record mentoring and growing junior engineers.
