02Job Description

• Create and document detailed business requirements, performing analysis that outlines problems, opportunities, and solutions for stakeholders.
• Author and update internal and external documentation; formally initiate and deliver requirements and documentation.
• Apply a strong understanding of the documentation development process, software development process, and product lifecycles.
• Determine operational objectives by studying business functions, gathering information, and evaluating output and formats.
• Improve systems by studying and documenting current state and business rules.
• Partner with team members and stakeholders across multiple business units to develop analysis and documentation collaboratively, communicating effectively with executive teams.
• Communicate technical information to non-technical audiences and business information to technical audiences.
• Apply complex knowledge of fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures of technical writing.
• Construct workflow charts and diagrams; study system capabilities; write specifications.
• Translate stakeholder requests into formal requirements.
• Deliver high-quality business requirement documentation for business manuals, new development, training manuals, user guides, and system guides.

03Required Skills / Experience

• Effectively communicate (verbal and written) requirements with stakeholders and the development team.
• Collaborate with Project Manager, Architect, and developers to ensure business requirements are communicated, accepted, and meet expectations.
• Translate and simplify stakeholder requirements into written documents: Business Requirements Document, Functional Design Document, Technical Design Document, Technical Use Cases, User Stories, Business Cases, Requirements Traceability Matrix, and Test Cases.
• Create diagrams, flowcharts, and workflows of business processes.
• Create and manage test cases for Quality Assurance.
• Familiarity with software and database development concepts.
• Experience working as a Technical Business Analyst on a software development team.
• Experience developing technical documentation for enterprise software users, system administrators, and other technical audiences.
• Strong experience in requirements management and creating all documents listed above.
• Strong experience mapping business processes into technical documentation.

04Preferred / Not Required

• Experience with MS Visio or a similar diagramming product.
• Experience in the Educational Domain.

05Compensation

• A competitive hourly rate of $55 – $60 USD per hour, dependent on experience and qualifications.
• 100% remote work environment based out of Jackson, Mississippi.
